This is the result of a MacBook Pro being dropped and landing on its screen Unfortunately, MacBook Pro screens can be more expensive than a logic board. Sometimes it’s also the choice of getting a decent grade refurbished screen or buying a new one, which is a lot of cases can be more than the MacBook is worth after you add on the cost of fitting etc. This is most definitely the case with the newer MacBooks which take a lot of disassemblies and rebuilding to replace the screen.
Luckily the damage was limited to the screen and after it was replaced the MacBook was fine and the customer was more than happy with the repair.
