This 2010 Apple MacBook was brought in as the bottom case cover had a gap on the edge, which had increased in size offer time. The trackpad looked like it was being pushed outwards by something. Once we opened the MacBook, it was clear to see that the battery was really swollen and needed replacing.

Here’s a side view of the failing battery which shows you how badly swollen it was, this is one of the worst that I’ve seen. As soon as the battery was removed it was put outside as there’s a risk of fire or explosion with faulty batteries. We ordered a new battery from our supplier which arrived the next day.
