CD / DVD Drive Faulty
Laptops and Desktop computers accept different types of CD/DVD drives, most commonly IDE
and SATA (serial ATA).  The drive inevitably fail over time, most commonly due to laser failure.

Some drives are still able to read disks although they may not be able to burn disks and may
only be able to read one type of disk, CD or DVD and not both.

The symptoms of a failing disk drive can include strange noises, failure to read disks, failure to
burn new CD's and DVD's.  Problems with the tray opening to accept a new disk or the drive
not showing up at all in "my computer", where it should be dispalyed and accessible.

We hold replacement drives in stock and are able to fit them into Desktop PC's and Laptop
computers in a short space of time at your home or at the shop.

Netbooks don't have a disk drive and therefore limit them if you want to access data from a
disk inc sofwtare, music or a DVD, however we sell external USB drives in the shop.
