BIOGRAPHY:

The seeds of Irregular Slinky were sown when Thomas and Antoine met through a mutual
friend at the beginning of the millennium.  Thomas at the time studying multimedia and
Antoine, an engineering student. Drinks were shared and musical interests formed.  The pair
began exchanging ideas and laying down 4 track recordings referencing electro and live
instrumentation.

Through Antoine cane fellow French student Carole, who joined soon after bringing her
melodic jazz tinged vocals to guitar and bass compositions.  Not long after Joe arrived on keys
and the quartet recorded their first 2-song demo at the tail end of 2001.

From practising in Joe’s kitchen to their first gigs (with the help of Jeff on drums) at the Polish
Club in Glasgow, to Antoine’s own night: Reconnaissance at the Carnival Arts Centre, which
has since in it’s various forms built up a good reputation as a quarterly event promoting some
of Glasgow’s musical talents with contrasting styles.

2005 brought more studio work and a new 3-track demo CD recorded at Urban Studios and
also a stream of gigs generating positive audience response (see gigography) and substantial
sales in the demo.  Shortly after, drummer Jeff departed and Tam joined solidifying the
Irregular Slinky sound.

Fast forward to 2006 and the Slinkies have played to more successful reconnaissance nights
and made a trip to the East coast to play an anniversary show for the Make Poverty History
campaign at the Left Bank in Edinburgh.  There is also a slot lined up at the Queens Park
Festival on the 19/08/06.

The Sound: Always a question asked, and always hard to answer.  We could go on all night
about each one of our influences, but out response is always the same: you have to witness
Irregular Slinky first hand to dig their blend of power chord funk, reggae balladry and their
eclectic mix of instrumentation with Carole’s multilingual melodies the icing on the cake.

See them to appreciate them.
